Now and then monsters need a break from human civilization. When they’re looking for a break from the ordinary they like to relax in the spooky and creepy of Dracula’s Hotel Transylvania! To celebrate his daughter Mavis’ 118th birthday, Dracula invites his friends Mummy, Woflman and his family, Frankenstein’s Monster and the Invisible Man for the weekend. At the same time ordinary young traveley Johnathan stumbles upon the establishment and decides to have a stay. Dracula must keep his friends entertained and under control while also trying to keep his daughter away from the intriguing new visitor!

Regional sports networks are the cable television stations that broadcast local sports, including college and professional sports leagues, and also distribute them to the rest of the country. Commonly known as RSNets, they can be very confusing and frustrating for those who just want to watch their team or catch a game. DISH provides several maps which show the RSNet maps, this can be invaluable in helping you figure out what RSNet you may need to be subscribed to or have access to with your other programming in order to watch a game in a certain area.

PCMag.com has reviewed and rated the DISH Hopper and have given it 4.5/5 stars with an editor rating of “Excellent!” The only cons they delivered for the DISH Hopper were that it doesn’t stream Netflix of Hulu Plus, but with PrimeTime Anytime and Blockbuster @Home streaming available with the Hopper, most customers report they don’t need either of those extra bills anymore! PCMag.com said in it’s bottom line review of the Hopper that it is “the best whole-home DVR and cable/satellite tuner experience we’ve seen yet.”
Editors also lauded the Hopper’s size, which is small considering it houses such impressive performance and massive 2TV hard drive. They also advised that “setting up multiple series recordings was easy”, and said they were able to set up recordings of several shows in minutes. Overall, the excellent design, ease of use, and customer-oriented features (such as the Remote Locate button) were highlighted and commended.

Mandrake is two-part telefilm starring Marcos Palmeira as Mandrake, a criminal lawyer from Rio do Janeiro. Mandrake’s main responsibilities are to help the wealthy with issues they may run into with Rio’s seedier side. Working out of a small but presitigious practice with his late father’s old partner, Wexler, a Jewish lawyer that handles the civil cases, Mandrake deals with the firm’s criminal ones. Mandrake is a tense drama with many twists and turns that sure to excite! |

Capadocia (full title, Capadocia: Un Lugar Sin Perdón) is a Mexican television series that follows Lorena Guerra, a pharmacist who chose to take on the role of stay-at-home mom. She and her husband seem to have an idyllic life, but one day when she arrives home suddenly she finds her husband in bed with her best friend. A confrontation ensues and Lorena’s friend falls down a staircase to her death. Lorena is sentenced to serve in an experimental new prison in Mexico in which the inmates must work, and the series follows the stories and lives of the many inmates and their various paths to the prison. |

4k televisions, a moniker given to those displays that boast the impressive 3840 × 2160, now being called Ultra High-Definition, were a rage at CES 2013. Most enthralling of all: Samsung’s 110-inch UHD TV. With an LED-backlit LCD screen, this Ultra High-Definition television offers a pixel density currently unmatched in the market.
Offering a beautiful picture, as well as Samsung’s impressive Smart TV technology, and an internal converter that upscales current HD content while the entertainment industry works to start providing Ultra HD content, this TV offers all you can ask for when it comes to picture and display.
What about sound? The metal frame, which supports the massive 110″ screen, provides function as well as form. Nestled within it are two woofers, two tweeters, and two midrange speakers, all powered by a 120-watt amplifier.
Though like many offerings at CES this is just a prototype and no specifics have been hammered out, like price or release date. In fact, it doesn’t even have a model number yet. However, most items premiered at CES are usually on the market within the year, with of course the exception being the OLED superthin televisions Samsung displayed at CES 2012 and yet again CES 2013. The DISH Hopper and Joey boxes, a whole-home DVR system that was revealed at CES 2012, has returned to CES with a new capability to join the already incredible features: Sling capability.
You can also transfer recorded shows directly to an iPad using a separate, free Hopper Transfers app over Wi-Fi while you’re still at home; this way you can watch them later without an Internet connection.
The Dish Hopper with Sling also lets you “fling” photos, videos, and music from a mobile device to an HDTV. That’s similar to what the Slingbox 500 does, in part thanks to Sling Media’s upgraded firmware that the company launched this week.
Sling allows you to watch live and DVR recordings anywhere with a laptop, tablet, smartphone or other internet or 3G/4G connected devices. The new Hopper also offers built in Wi-Fi for easy network and Sling connection. It also boasts a new processor that allows it to run nearly three times faster than any other satellite receiver currently available in the US.
Another excellent new feature is the ability to transfer recorded shows directly to an iPad using the free Hopper Transfers app over your home Wi-Fi connection, allowing for viewing later even without an internet connection. Much like the Slingbox 500, the Hopper with Sling allows you to “fling” media such as photos, videos and music from a mobile device to your HDTV.
As if AutoHop, Primetime Anytime, a massive 2TB hard drive that allows for recording up to 2,000 hours of standard definition television, and the whole-home DVR capabilities of the Hopper wasn’t impressive enough, the new additions unveiled at CES 2013 make the Hopper rather irresistible.
