Early look at HBO’s Game of Thrones, Season 4: Even Darker

Pulling in an already quite high three million viewers on its debut in 2011, the show has grown to the most downloaded (over six million people downloaded the Season 3 Finale) and one of the most watched on the planet. This time around, the world will be having a blast watching the failings of the Sochi games, or more or less the Russian infrastructure. There are distractions a plenty but when it comes down to it, this is the Olympics, and sports fans love watching nations compete, no matter what they are. No more NFL? Here are the major sports events to watch this spring

Sure, so the NFL is over. I guess there’s nothing to watch in the sporting variety until August right? Wrong! Nearly all TV packages will be including the following events in the coming months:

The Sochi Winter Olympics begin on February 7th in Russia, and go for 16 days until February 16th.

The MLS Soccer season begins March 8th. Many games are on national television, but there’s also an MLS package offered in most areas if you need every game.

The NASCAR Sprint Series picks back up from the holiday hiatus on February 15th.

NFL scouting and combines start February 18th.

NCAA March Madness basketball begins March 18th.

Major League Baseball and the Boys of Summer’s opening day is March 31st.

The NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs begin on April 15th, and generally run through June.

ESPN Deportes comes to DishLATINO just in time for spring and summer soccer

In sporting news recently released by Dish Network, ESPN Deportes will be carried on several DishLATINO packages starting immediately on Dish Network Satellite TV.espn

For sports enthusiasts who want the best soccer and worldwide football action, ESPN Deportes is an absolute must have. All programming is in Spanish for Latino communities and Spanish-speaking Americans everywhere, but remember Deportes also carries game not found on other stations, so even English-speaking satellite users should be interested.

The ESPN Deportes package is available in DishLATINO packages: Clasico, Plus, Dos, and Max. While not availabe alone in English packages, it can be added with the DishLATINO Bonus Pack. (This is great for English-speaking users who still want great soccer and international coverage they can’t get anywhere else.)

Classic world-renowned shows like SportsCenter, Futbol Picante, Jorge Ramos y Su Banda and Futbol Center will all be broadcast as always, including sports coverage on Soccer, Boxing, American Football, the NBA, Tennis and Extreme sports among others. Also included will be live coverage of events such as the MLS, UEFA, Copa Del Rey, Liga MX, Copa MX, and Eredivisie.

NFL Super Bowl Preview: Info, Spreads and Viewing Guide

Well it’s finally here, and you couldn’t have picked a better match up — except for the fact that this is the exact match up every analyst picked at the beginning of the season. But, again, this is a good thing. These were the best two teams throughout the year, and here we are. It rarely happens this perfectly, especially in football these days as injuries have been mounting up to ridiculous degrees. The story lines are clear: Peyton’s legacy, and the “team-first” nature of the Seahawks and their young quarterback. Are these the actual game story lines though? We’ll see. Read more

FOX to stream Super Bowl free to desktop and tablet devices

alg-yup-jpgFox Sports has announced it will stream live all of its coverage from Super Bowl 48 next Sunday. The move is being characterized as the Fox network showcaing it’s online and mobile authenticating services.

Naturally, the free “preview” is not permanent, and subscribers to FOX’s online content will have to subscribe (i.e. pay). However, the most watched event in the United States every year isn’t a bad place to start for showcasing a new product. Read more
